Early one morning,
Antoine wakes up to find himself dissociated from his physical self. Standing over his
lifeless body he soon realises he has lost any ability to grab, touch or otherwise act
upon objects in the physical world; a world to which he must return before his parents
discover the unmoving body of their only child. He soon discovers that he can affect the
strange essence of blue objects in his spirit state and sets off to transform this meager
understanding of his new reality into a way of returning to his former self.
Director's biofilmography :
Jean-François Daigle (AKA "JFD") was born in
1979. At the age of 10 he shot his first film with the help of his brother and a
Pixelvision camera. The hope of becoming a camera operator and later a director pushed him
to complete his studies at the famed Mel Hoppenheim School of cinema in Montreal, Canada -
completing a BFA and a Specialization in Film Production. Since, his career path has
allowed him to work in many styles such as ENG, documentary, fiction, experimental cinema
and music videos. He has worked in many different formats including HD, super 8mm film and
16mm; winning numerous prizes for his fiction work. "The Blue room" (La
Chambre bleue) is his latest short.

This award-winning film is now
part of the Mel Hoppenheim collection at Concordia University. It screened at the WFF 2001
and at the Fantasia Film festival in 2003.
The NORMAN McLAREN award for best production. Offered
by the National Film Board of Canada during the 32nd Canadian Student Film & Video
Festival (World Film Festival 2001).
BEST FICTION VIDEO award, 32nd Canadian Student Film
& Video Festival (World Film Festival 2001). For its "unpredictable development
and audacious use of montage to heighten the impact of the narrative".
The MICHEL-TRUDEL AWARD in FILM PRODUCTION for
"Overall Technical Achievement in Third Year Film Production" (Concordia
University).
