It's about life of one of the greatest Cuban musicians,
Pedro Luis Ferrer. He has done his work without television, radio and official speeches.
At the same time he has found a way to meet with the critical thought of the Cuban
revolutionaries as a reflection of the world crisis of this tendency.
You can appreciate the way in which he plays his music during the whole documentary.

2. Cabaret
Havana, from the time that she became capital of Cuba, and a
crossing place toward other lands, and also a place of a great attraction to North
America, the entertainments places were increased.
One of these places was the Cabaret, at the beginning reproducing the foreign cultures,
but later our own point of view, between other reasons, due to the powerful existence of
the music produced in Cuba. In 1959, the capital of Cuba had 18 Cabarets and dozens of
small centers of this type.
The social transformation that have been produced with the Cuban revolution, paralyzed for
many years the functioning of these places. Then with tourism, the world of Cabarets has
revived in Havana city.
This documentary reflects those stages at 50´s (the top of success) and nowadays.
Participates in the documentary, important musicians and personalities of the life of the
Cuban cabaret, some deceased few months later, like it is the case of Tito Gómez.

3. Los años 50, La Habana inventada
(The 50's, invented Havana)
In the 50's, due to the development of the national
discography Industry and with the introduction of the television, converge the most
important types of Cuban music. New music types arised, such as "Cha Cha Cha",
"Son", "Danzón", "Mambo", "Feeling" and
"Bolero".
It is a travel through the Cuban music and personalities like Richard Egues, Omara
Portuondo, among others.

4. Yo soy el Cimarrón
Recreates the combination of Cuba's religions and the
relation with our music.
There is a contrast between Catholic religion and African culture, and are precisely this
relation the one that explains the Cuban's nature.
On the other hand, it is a forced point of reference, the way in which Cubans practice
African religion, even for African people.

5. Almendrones
Havana city is a great Museum of cars, but not in a
collection sense, but in the utilitarian sense.
Cuban's inventiveness has made possible that these cars are still running by the streets.
It talks also about mechanics shops before and after Cuban revolution.

It is the first documentary that shows the sense of Cuban's
gesture supported in interviews to important Cuban's musicians, combined with the dance.

7. Un día después (The day
after)
This documentary is about what could happen in Cuba the
morning after Fidel Castro won't be any longer there.
With sense of humor this film shows something of which a lot of Cubans don't want to talk
about and also shows characteristics of Fidel's personality as well as some events of the
Cuban Revolution.
There are some interviews with personalities of the Cuban Society and also to the common
people that will definitively decide about this matter.
